Are Christian Blogs Dead? Why I still identify as a blogger

Are Christian Blogs Dead? Why I still identify as a blogger July 30, 2024

Blogging is old school these days. Like writing an old fashioned diary. Image: Pixabay

The rumours of  the death of Christian blogging are greatly exaggerated.

I have been taking a walk through the Christian blogosphere lately.  So many of the blogs I used to love are gone. But this new page I have put together proves Christian blogs are far from dead! Below is fresh spiritually uplifting content for you from a range of top blogs. Bookmark this page and keep coming back!

Some old blogs have converted to static websites which promote the books or podcast of a retired blogger. Others have just given up writing. I have been blogging since 2003, and despite long gaps at some points due to my health, the joy of blogging has never really left me. The rumours of the death of personal Christian blogging have been greatly exaggerated. I know I am not the only one who still loves to share parts of my life and thoughts with you.

Am I a Personal Blogger or a Columnist?

On Patheos I am labelled as an Evangelical columnist whilst Muckrack thinks I am a journalist. I understand that the appeal of this page is broader than those who even know what a blog is.

If you will humour me a little, let me define what I think a great Personal Christian Blogger is.  They share personal stories from their lives, making themselves vulnerable. They share Biblical insights writing consistently and in an engaging manner.  They offer a sense of community and support.  They produce relevant, relatable, and inspirational content. Is it any wonder many great Christian bloggers have gained external recognition and even gone on to publish books?

I have done some work with AI tools  ChatGPT and Microsoft’s Co-Pilot to systematically assess and identify the very best blogs that are still writing. More of that in a later post. But for now let’s just say, the rumours of  the death of Christian blogging are greatly exaggerated.   The widget below will constantly update with new articles from the very best Christian blogs. None of these blogs are hosted by an organisation. They are all the work of enthusiastic individuals like me.
