A Visit to the Satanic Temple in Salem, MA
April 27th, 2024
Psalm 34:4 – I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears.
Last weekend I had the pleasure of embarking on a day trip to Salem, MA, accompanied by a friend. As I had never been to Salem before, so she served as my knowledgeable guide throughout the trip.
For the past four months, I have dedicated my energy to researching the contentious issue of abortion access. The news of the Satanic Temple inaugurating an abortion clinic left me astonished. Compelled by what I learned about TST, I decided to visit their headquarters in Salem. Initially, I felt a bit disheartened about the visit, particularly to the Satanic Temple that Saturday morning. Yet, my friend’s excitement for the trip proved infectious, and before long, we were en route to Salem.
Should We Go In?
As we arrived at the temple, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the grounds were immaculately landscaped. And, again although I had my reasons as to why I did not want to go into the temple, we rang the doorbell. A lovely young lady with a sweet smile greeted us at the door. As soon as I stepped in the inside of the Temple, I felt safe and welcome. The Satanic Temple was incredibly clean, and the gothic decor was impeccable. The Temple’s gallery also showcased an array of artwork. Moreover, the intricate woodwork, elaborate designs, and historical artifacts were extraordinary. I regret not taking more photos, but as usual, I was absorbed in different thoughts.
Hannah, the hostess, recited the house rules, cautioning us against touching or “petting” the gorgeous velvet wallpaper. However, she did mention that taking a selfie with the infamous Baphomet statue, the mascot of the Satanic Temple, was permitted. Despite knowing the history of Baphomet, the idea of taking a selfie with the imposing metal statue of the ancient deity hadn’t crossed my mind. Yet, buoyed by my friend irrepressible humor, we ended up taking one.
Although I greatly disagree with the idea of the Satanic Temple providing medication for abortions, I must admit that the young hostess, Hannah, left an impression on me. Her professionalism was remarkable, and I was pleasantly surprised by her welcoming and hospitable attitude. It’s not often that you come across someone who can maintain such a high level of courtesy and friendliness, especially in a controversial setting like this.
Discussing Satan is sensitive for me because of the childhood religious abuse I suffered in addition to the psychological and ritual abuse that almost killed me when I was engaged to a man who was secretly an occultist and a high-ranking Luciferian priest from a distinguished family. I have had many profound experiences with the infernal realm and its earthly representatives that I could reveal, but I might explore that further at another time.
Isaiah 41:10 – Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
