This Is That Post
Dear Patheos friends, we are now in the second half of 2024! Just like that, July came knocking and we have opened the door to all it has for us. A major highlight in the month of July, is America’s birthday on July 4th. I finally caught up on all your feedback. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and hearts. Appreciate each of you! I mentioned there was a question from the post “God Has Elected You To Serve” that I will answer in the next post. This is that post, since we had a Father’s Day celebration post.
Question Answered
The question asked what the campaign slogan “Feyi Can Fix It” meant during my 2018 run for District 11, SBOE as shared in the post, “God Has Elected You To Serve.” For those that are new to this information, a little background information is helpful to gain insights into this question. I was one of the few candidates that had the opportunity to visit with the incumbent of the office I was running for. Our discussion concluded with the blessing of the incumbent as I prepared to run for the office.
Gospel Reformation
Our campaign began making all the necessary preps with slogans etc. The campaign team believed that my public faith in Christ as a minister of the gospel would be a catalyst in reforming our public education system. A few weeks later, our campaign learned that the incumbent changed gears and will be running for the same office again. And that was how the 2018 District 11 SBOE race became a highly tracked race.
The I AM Is Fixer Upper
The campaign slogan, “Feyi Can Fix It’ was derived from my walk with God, as a minister of the gospel. The rationale of that campaign slogan is nested in the truth that God is the I AM- the One that works in and through everyone that has a relationship with Him. This understanding is what makes it possible for men and women of God in public office to be salt, light and difference makers. God is the Fixer Upper- the one that works in and through His people in every sphere and industry. This understanding affects everything from life purposes to how decisions are made.
Happy Birthday America
As we celebrate America’s 248th birthday, let’s remember that God is the fixer upper of this great nation. On every level- local, state and national, this nation is fortunate to have men and women who love and fear God. Let’s continue to pray for such men and women that God would work in and through each of them. As we enjoy Independence Day parades, gatherings, fun, food and fellowship, let’s also posture our hearts in prayer and Biblical declarations over this great nation. These prayers and declarations do not have to stop after July 4th. It is an election year and every prayer, declaration and action matters! With a current estimated population of 336, 673, 595 million, the most dominant economic and military power in the world, we pray that God bless America on her 248th birthday, with a spiritual awakening and revival as America has never known before. Happy Birthday, America!
