Summer Months

Dear Patheos Friends, we can now look forward to the summer months! Just like that, we are in the month of June at which end we will be halfway through 2024! Still filtering through your feedback from last post and how God spoke to you through it. Thank you! There is a question from the post that I’ll answer in the next post- please stay tuned. Appreciate your feedback, one of the many things that makes this community unique.

Sharing Your Faith

In this post, we will examine how to share your faith in Christ at work (Thank you for the leads Patheos team). In a time where anything faith in God is diametric to the culture of the times, knowing how to share your faith is one skill to hone as believers in Christ. This is not about what people say about their faith in God at work. This is about how a life anchored in God shows up at work.

Serving The Lord

Let’s begin with Romans 12:11, “Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.” Believers in Christ are the most diligent employees any workplace can have. The reason is because believers know that whatever they are doing, wherever that may be, they are serving the Lord, who sees and knows all things. They are anchored in this truth as they keep the flame of their faith fervent.

Ten Safe Ways

Though it sounds so simple, in the current combative culture of our times, knowing how to share your faith in Christ at work without earning a trip to the human resource department is a priority. Let us examine ten safe ways to share your faith at work:

“You are not part of the gossip gang at work” – (Whoever conceals hatred with lying lips and spreads slander is a fool, Proverbs 10:18).

“You are rumor proof and do not entertain such” – (Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers, Psalm 1:1)

“You understand and live out empathy” – (Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind, 1 Peter 3:8).

“You love everyone just like God commanded” –(And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony, Colossians 3:14)

“You see everyone in the image of God” – (So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them, Genesis 1:27).

“You look for opportunities to bless others”- (The one who blesses others is abundantly blessed; those who help others are helped, Proverbs 11:25).

“You are a wellspring of encouragement”- (For the LORD gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding, Proverbs 2:6)

“You seek the best for everyone”- (Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others, Philippians 2:4)

“You walk in forgiveness to everyone”- (Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you, Ephesians 4:32)

“You live out and understand healthy boundaries” – (Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it, Proverbs 4:23).

Partner With God

These ten ways are just the foundation to allow God to work in the hearts of people. Follow these up with prayer of salvation for everyone yet to know Christ as Savior and friend. Here is an example of how to pray for people to know Christ: Heavenly Father, I thank you for the job you have given me and for the people I get to work with. They bless me and I am asking you to bless them in return. Bless their families and friends with your goodness, grace and love. Help them to know you and feel your presence in their lives. Give them the satisfaction that comes from knowing and walking with you. In Jesus name I pray.

Living for God is a high calling. Trust God to do the heart work of salvation as you live out for Him and continue in prayer. Everyone’s eternal destination is important and believers in Christ are called to partner with God for the salvation of people.
