We are in direct conflict with the kingdom of darkness. We cannot run nor hide from the satanic attacks. When we are born again, we are automatically in warfare, and there are no gray areas in this battle. In this post, I aim to encourage you to remain in the battle. We win in the end.
Jesus warns us to be either Hot or Cold. Lukewarm people will be spit out. These words are a picture of the battle between good and evil. No one is allowed to be a spectator.
Joshua 24:15 AMP If it is unacceptable in your sight to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you live; but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”
Everything in our life is about making a choice, either choose to follow God and his will or our selfish desires. As God-chosen vessels, we are his Battle Axe.
Jeremiah 51:20-24 KJV] “Thou art my battle axe and weapons of war: for with thee will I break in pieces the nations, and with thee will I destroy kingdoms; [21] And with thee will I break in pieces the horse and his rider; and with thee will I break in pieces the chariot and his rider;” [22]
“With thee also will I break in pieces man and woman; and with thee will I break in pieces old and young; and with thee will I break in pieces the young man and the maid; [23]
I will also break in pieces with thee the shepherd and his flock; and with thee will I break in pieces the husbandman and his yoke of oxen; and with thee will I break in pieces captains and rulers. [24] And I will render unto Babylon and to all the inhabitants of Chaldea all their evil that they have done in Zion in your sight, saith the Lord.”
As a battle axe, we will be a smiter, war club, and shatterer against demonic forces. We have the authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions with the ability to exercise authority over demonic powers Luke 10:19.
Because we are vessels of war, we will face many battles, trials, and obstacles. However, because we are on the battlefield, we will destroy demonic nations, kingdoms and break our enemy into pieces.
Therefore, no weapon formed against us will succeed, and every tongue that rises against us in judgment is condemned. God’s righteousness and peace are our heritage!
During spiritual battles, chosen war vessels are like a maul, a war hammer. We must be careful not to become dull or get weary in well-doing. A maul is a heavy hammer-like tool with a wooden or rubber head. It is often used for driving stakes, or splitting wood,
Like any axe, we must remain very sharp. When an axe is dull, it can become inefficient, lacking sharpness and intensity.
Ecclesiastes 10:10 AMP If the axe is dull and he does not sharpen its edge, then he must exert more strength; but wisdom [to sharpen the axe] helps him succeed [with less effort].
A dull axe (Christian) settles for mediocrity while missing Godly opportunities. Dull Christians have no goals or zeal to rise higher. We must be careful to avoid becoming dull of hearing Hebrews 5:11, which will cause sins of disobedience.
We want to remain sharp because there is little effort when called to war against the adversary. God calls us to fight in many ways, such as prayer, fasting, or ministering to others. In any case, we must remain sharp.
2nd Timonty 4:2 KJV Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.
We must remain prepared, always available to be used by God. Proverbs remind us to remember the preparedness of the ant and not allow ourselves to become lazy. We can remain prepared if we practice daily routines of self-discipline. Some spiritual self-disciplines we can practice daily are:
Prayer
Reading our Bible
Listening to bible studies/ sermons
Fellowshipping with like-minded believers
Have a growth mindset!
Not giving in to slumber and laziness.
I encourage you to begin to practice these spiritual disciplines daily to remain sharp in this ongoing battle. Remember, you are God’s battle axe and chosen weapon of war.
Prayer: I pray we will become a sharp weapon of war in God’s hands, destroying demonic nations and tearing down strongholds.
Matthew 11:12 AMP From the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violent assault, and violent men seize it by force [as a precious prize].
