When Beltane arrives again and the light shifts (in the Northern Hemisphere) to longer stretches of days, my body remembers. I’ve danced with ribbons of all colors, weaving them around a maypole in the gloriously messy way of sweaty bodies and laughing hearts.
When these days arrive, falling in love with the world is easier. I remember how it feels – welcoming, connecting, and reviving. Like taking a breath for the first time in a while.
You can bring that love and desire and connection with you at any time of the year. The delight of Beltane can be an everyday dance.
- Stop – No matter where you are or how you are, stop and be in the moment. You might close your eyes or you might look around to see what is happening RIGHT NOW. Come to this moment for what it is. Release any stories about the moment.
- Move – Move a finger if you like. Or your whole body. Wave your hands in the air or tap your feet. Invite movement into the moment. It’s easier to love when you’re not stuck.
- Remember – If there is ever a lesson that brings me back to love, it is this: this too shall pass. This feeling. This moment. This joy. This sorrow. It will pass. It always does. Release the tension in your shoulders, the weight of thinking. You will return to your heart. You always do.
Beltane blessings to you and yours!
