The term “Unified Reich” was repeated multiple times in an ad the Trump campaign posted during criminal Trump’s trial for pain hush money to a porn star was taking place on Monday.
The term is originally attributed to the Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler’s reign after he dismantled Germany’s democratic government to assume total power; history knows the rest of the story. The phrase is a clear indicator of a second Trump presidency.

The irony of Hitler’s pursuit of power is much of what he did was under religious guile. Hitler’s Obsession with power blinded him to his ungodly and corrupt actions.
Mankind’s sinful nature has corrupted every ounce of his flesh (Genesis 6:11.) Corruption isn’t just evil, it’s getting what we want by evil or unjust means.
Corrupt
Corrupt is defined as, “To change from good to bad in morals, manners, or actions; tainted or rotten.” In a perfect world, there is no corruption, but we live and a fallen world.
The Bible teaches us that the corruption of man began in the garden when the first Adam accepted Satan’s promise of more power and knowledge (Genesis 3:1-24.)
Christianity goes to great lengths to warn God’s people about corruption, because we still live in the fallen world (John 8:44, Acts 13:34-37, Romans 8:6-39, 2 Corinthians 11:13-15, Galatians 6:8, 2 Peter 2:19.)
The Apostles remembered and understood their Jewish education about the corruption of this world (Deuteronomy 31:25-29, Psalm 55:1-23, Proverbs 29:7-18, Malachi 2:1-17.)
Šāḥaṯ
Judaism has always cautioned God’s people about corruption. The Hebrew word for corrupt in the Old Testament is šāḥaṯ and it can also mean to ruin, disrupt, destroy, spoil, or pervert, depending on the context it is used.
God originally called His people to be different and set apart from the corrupt and fallen world we live in (Leviticus 19:1-37, Deuteronomy 7:6, Isaiah 49:5.)
The Torah defines corruption as anything that goes against God’s commands (Genesis 6:11-12, Exodus 32:7, Deuteronomy 9:8-12.) It is God’s law that helps God’s people to be separate from a corrupt world. Below are some specific corrupt practices the Torah commands God’s people to avoid.
- Moral corruption
- Bribery
- Abuse of power
- Gossip
- Lying
- Sexual immorality
It is obvious each act of corruption begins inside of us and works its way out into our actions and words. Jesus reminded the early church that evil desires and actions come from within our own hearts before they are manifested externally (Matthew 5:28; 15:19-20, Mark 7:21.)
The New Testament continues to teach that we have a sinful nature that is contrary to the nature of God (Mark 7:23, Romans 3:23, 1 Corinthians 3:3, Colossians 3:10, 1 John 1:8.)
Corruption isn’t a Republican or a Democrat problem; it is a human problem to which none of us are immune regardless of what the Pope may say.
The Pope
This week the Pope made the controversial statement that people are fundamentally good. His perspective contradicts Scripture and over 2000 years of church teaching.
No one is saved by their goodness; humanity needs a savior because we are corrupt to the core. Even Jesus didn’t claim to be good although He is sinless (Mark 10:18.)
Unfortunately, people base goodness on the standards of man, when goodness is based on the standards of God because only God is truly good.
The only difference between God’s people and the lost is we don’t give into our corrupt nature.

Democrats, Republicans, and Independents all need to become pure and right with God. Only a just God can save us from the corruption in the world and us.
The late Billy Graham said, “We do not fail to enjoy the fruit of the Spirit because we live in a sea of corruption; we fail to do so because the sea of corruption is in us.” Each day our hearts and flesh decay, because we are all more and more šāḥaṯ.
